The company was founded in 2006 by the team previously behind Aelita Software, well known for its Windows Server management solutions. In 2008, Veeam acquired nworks, adding solutions that bridge the gap between VMware and enterprise management systems from Microsoft and HP. Veeam has been profitable since 2009 and unlike most powerful technology companies, has not accepted any traditional VC funding. Veeam’s CEO Ratmir Timashev recently set the goal of making Veeam a $1 billion revenue company within the next five years.

Veeam currently has 25,000 ProPartners, 1,500 employees and more than 111,500 customers worldwide. Veeam’s global headquarters are located in Baar, Switzerland, and the company has offices throughout the world.
